Gala Ball

In 2007 Leeds Women's Aid celebrated 35 years of protecting women and children from the damage that domestic violence can inflict on their lives. On average a woman experiences 35 violent assaults before she seeks help, so this anniversary has a special resonance for us.

In November 2007 there was a week of events culminating in a Gala Ball on November 22nd. It was an incredible evening with a 30 piece Cuban big band. There was three course gourmet meal followed by a brief charity auction. Entrance included champagne on arrival, wine with the meal and tea and coffee.

There were also street events during that week and a secret party for our service users, past and present.
